Management of North Fork Bridge Replacement

Management of North Fork Bridge Replacement

Binnie was retained by the Ministry of Transportation to manage the North Fork Bridge Replacement Project, located approximately 28 kilometres east of Sicamous, BC. The project consists of a bridge replacement, 3.5 kilometres of four-laning, and 2.3 kilometres of asphalt rehabilitation. It is part of the provincial government’s commitment to invest $650 million dollars in continuing the advancement of four-laning projects between Kamloops and Golden – a ‘BC on the Move’ priority. The project will greatly improve the highway by providing assured passing opportunities, new frontage roads for better access to businesses and residents, and a replacement for a bridge that is nearing the end of its service life. The new twin two-lane bridges will support the height clearance and lane widths required by commercial vehicles and wide loads.

Binnie provided project management services throughout conceptual and detailed design. As of fall, 2016, Binnie continued to manage the project as it moved into the property acquisition and construction phases.
