Power Distribution: Our extensive experience with industrial power distribution includes voltages ranging up to 15kV, and transmission and substation design up to 69kV. Projects include custom arc-resistant switchgear as well as basic motor control centres (MCC’s) for municipal pump stations. We have worked on several industrial site expansion projects (greenfield and brownfield), with significant experience in underground electrical infrastructure including large electrical duct banks and custom underground electrical vaults.
Electrical Instrumentation and Controls (EIC): Our electrical team works closely with civil, mechanical and process engineers on various water and wastewater treatment and conveyance systems. We have integrated various instruments into our designs, measuring flow, pressure, level, temperature and process analytics. Projects range from municipal pumping stations, pressure reducing valve assemblies, groundwater well monitoring and treatment plant monitoring.
Energy Efficiency Studies: Our group is consistently looking for ways to reduce energy consumption through innovative, cost-effective designs. We are part of the BC Hydro Alliance of Energy Professionals (formerly the Power Smart Alliance) and have successfully applied for multiple Power Smart incentives based on our designs. Recent projects receiving rebates include LED lighting upgrades at Vancouver International Airport (reduced power consumption by 56%) and Deltaport Container Terminals (reduced by 35%) as well as VFD retrofits for the Kennedy Water Pump Station in the City of Surrey (reduced by 30%).
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations: As electric vehicles become more popular, our team has experience in implementing numerous electric vehicle charging stations, including new electric bus charging infrastructure at the Vancouver International Airport. With the help of our Omni Division, our team can provide multi-disciplinary services to install the EV chargers along with the related civil infrastructure.
PLC, RTU & HMI Programming: We provide a range of PLC, RTU, HMI and related SCADA programming services for municipal and industrial sites. With a wide range of experience with multiple platforms, we can provide support to existing and new systems.
Lighting: The electrical team has a wide range of outdoor lighting design expertise, specifically in large industrial facilities. We have extensive experience in lighting verification surveys used to ensure lighting installations meet regulatory and design requirements for a given project. We are members of the Illuminating Engineers Society.
Short Circuit and Arc Flash Studies: Our team uses power system modelling software to provide short-circuit and protection coordination studies to sites of varying sizes and complexity. We also provide Arc Flash studies to ensure clients are meeting current CSA Workplace Electrical Safety requirements.
