On September 20, 2017, Binnie participated in Turf Field Day in Aldergrove, BC. The event was hosted by the Western Canadian Turfgrass Association (WCTA). The WCTA is a 700+ member interprovincial not-for-profit industry organization interested in further education, research, and the exchange of information related to professional sports turf management. Members represent a diversity of interests such as golf courses, sports fields, sod farms, nurseries, landscaping, lawn bowling greens, equipment, horticulture, and industry supplies. It was held at Aldergrove Athletic Park to benefit and educate sports field personnel of all levels. There were experts on industry trends, new products and services, and operating procedures.

Catherine Eiswerth, Manager of our Landscape Architecture, Sports and Recreation Division made a presentation discussing the safety of synthetic turf. She discussed findings from peer-reviewed federal and scientific research on the interaction between turf field users and the synthetic surface.

Catherine currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Synthetic Turf Council, the leading turf industry organization in North America. She is a leading turf field specialist in Western Canada and has been a featured speaker at sports and recreation conferences. Catherine has 20 years’ experience in the sports field industry
