Engineering Sports and Recreation Facilities
Communities are built around parks, sports and recreation facilities. Most Official Community Plans or Master Plans in Western Canada recognize the importance of open spaces in building engagement, improving livability, and creating a sense of community character and social identity through space.
Binnie provides the engineering and landscape architecture services to help you build these facilities.
We have worked on projects to build sports and recreation facilities, synthetic turf fields, grass fields, multi-courts, baseball and softball diamonds, running tracks, greenway bike paths, playgrounds, waterparks, dog parks, streetscapes, green space and much more.
Understanding the unique requirements of park, sport and recreation facility projects, we added landscape architecture to our services; this enables us to better design, plan and manage these projects. We continue to work together in partnership with Landscape Architects for joint projects, such as soft landscaping works, including plantings and growing media, or for any specialized decorative hard landscaping that may be required.
Working with Binnie
The benefit, of working with a multi-discipline engineering services company like Binnie, is that we support the engineering work required for parks, sports and recreation facilities, urban design and landscape design and architecture. Our range of work spans from natural grass field to synthetic turf installation; from multi-court to single court design and installation; from bike-ways to running trails; and more.
This work typically requires additional services such as survey, paving, drainage, irrigation, site grade planning and design considerations, along with project management services. When required, Binnie’s civil engineering services group supports each project to ensure that all of your objectives are met.
Additionally, many projects require a coordinated team of specialized consultants. With our expertise and the relationships we have built during our years in business, we can assemble an exceptional team of consultants on our clients’ behalf. We have acted as the prime consultant on numerous large and small parks, sports and recreation facilities projects and have also participated in the design-build project delivery process, both as the Owner’s Consultant and as part of a Contractor/Consultant team.
As civil engineers, we also have long-standing working relationships with consultants who are usually required on site development projects, such as geotechnical engineering firms for the soil investigations and materials testing, environmental consultants, structural engineers, and electrical and lighting consultants.
We provide a complete range of consulting services for a variety of municipal, provincial, federal and private sector clients for parks, sports and recreation facilities.
Our commitment is to provide significant and long-lasting value to your projects.
