The People Behind Your Infrastructure
Since 1969, we’ve worked closely with land developers, municipalities, and public and private sector organizations to engineer sustainable infrastructure solutions that connect and build communities.
We acknowledge that our home office in Burnaby is located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish people – Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Tsleil-Waututh & Musqueam First Nations.
Innovative Solutions for Tomorrow
We’ve spent 50 years earning a reputation for delivering quality civil engineering, surveying, and project management services to public and private sector clients. Our innovative approach is creating a connected and sustainable future for Western Canada. We combine both pioneering and time-tested practices with future-focused ideas and execution.
Growing Together
We are employee-owned and managed, so everyone at Binnie is committed to continuous improvement and growth. As our industry evolves and adapts, so do we. We continually expand our expertise to better serve our clients’ needs, and we offer dedicated programs that create opportunities for our employees to continue their path of learning.
With offices in Burnaby, Calgary, Kamloops, Squamish, Langley and Prince George—we are part of the diverse communities that we are helping to shape.
Our People Make the Difference
We’re the people behind the infrastructure you use every day. We design the roads and transit solutions that improve your commute. We’re the minds behind the recreation facilities and sports fields where teams train and play. We’re the team behind the bridges that connect your communities.
We’re small enough to know each other’s names, and big enough to be where we’re needed. We pride ourselves in our longstanding relationships with municipalities and city planners across Western Canada. We come to the table with an existing understanding of the communities we’ll be shaping, because we’ve called them home for half a century.
Committed to Safety
Binnie is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all its employees. Whether in the office or the field, all staff are urged and challenged to always make safety a priority.
We have taken a proactive approach in developing our Health and Safety Program – driven not by a rising number of workplace incidents, but by a desire to continually improve on what worked well before. We are proud of our efforts. In 2016, our program was awarded a Certificate of Recognition (COR) by WorkSafeBC and our certifying partner. We continue to maintain our COR and build on our health and safety knowledge to this day.
Industry Certifications
Quality Management and safety are key to delivering successful projects. We have been recognized by the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC) Organizational Quality Management (OQM) program, which appointed Binnie an early certification.
Binnie is certified by the SAFE Companies program of the BC Forest Safety Council, and holds a Certificate of Recognition (COR) from the Alberta Construction Safety Association.
We Believe in Building Sustainable Communities
We are committed to sustainable business practices with a social and ecological focus. We live where we work, and we care about our impact.
