The recently financed mental health facility at Vancouver General Hospital has civil engineering consultants, Binnie, on the development team. The Joe and Rosalie Segal Health Centre, named in honour of their $12-million contribution to the facility, is slated to be completed within three years.
The province is contributing $48 million, while the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and its corporate and private donors have committed an additional $25 million.
The old facility was built in the 1940s, has been in need of replacement for many years, and is slated for demolition. Binnie will be developing a site-servicing concept, outlining specifications, and producing a feasibility report for the project. Binnie is also working with dys architecture on the client advisory team to develop the business case for development.
The Binnie Team will be led by Senior Project Manager, Ken Fung, and supported by technical staff.
