Thank you to all our staff who donated to the women’s empowerment kits drive and to everyone who helped to assemble all the kits!

Our employees donated almost $2,000 in monetary donations along with Binnie’s contribution of $1,600. There was also an additional $100+ in item donations (total $3,700+).

With the help of staff who assembled kits after work, we created about 250 empowerment kits which included:

About Atira Women’s Resource Society
Our mission at Atira Women’s Resource Society is twofold: to provide direct services to women and children fleeing violence, and to raise awareness of all forms of gendered violence through education and advocacy. Since 1983, Atira has offered safe and supportive housing to women and children impacted by violence, as well as a range of services in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Burnaby, Surrey, White Rock, and Richmond.
