On April 8, 2016 Binnie staff attended the Grand Opening of the MRC Sports Complex, along with local government representatives, teachers, and students.

In the fall of 2014, the City of Abbotsford – in partnership with Abbotsford School District #34 – retained Binnie for the development of the $6.8 million MRC Sports Complex. The new complex has three synthetic fields (representing over 7 acres of synthetic surfacing), a skateboard park, warm-up area, parking lot, and full open space landscape design.

Working under an extremely tight timeline, Binnie’s Landscape Architecture, Sports, and Recreation Division designed and tendered the project in five months.

With the new synthetic fields, the community and schools can play for 12 hours a day, seven days a week. The fields will host soccer, football, field lacrosse, field hockey, and rugby games.
