Binnie provided Survey and Construction Management for the Pyramid Slide Repair Project located 29 kilometres north of Blue River, BC. Binnie managed Day Labour construction including the following activities: traffic management, quality management, environmental management, development of a rock quarry, stripping, foundation excavation of 25,000 m3, placement of 20,000 m3 riprap, and placement of geotextiles. Key challenges included Quarry Development – coordination of the design of the quarry; working in wetted perimeter of the Thompson River; and placement of riprap directly into the river.
Binnie produced Traffic Control and Site Safety Plans; participated in the Design process as Construction Advisor; provided cost estimating; ensured the field crew implemented and maintained cost-tracking records; ensured that all work requiring EOR sign off was carried out; ensured that Ministry procedures were adhered to; and liaised with the Project Manager, EOR, environmental agencies, and other stakeholders.
