With tennis becoming more popular and increased demand by tennis park users in Canmore and approved grant funding in place, Binnie was retained to provide landscape architecture services to the Town of Canmore for the Tennis Court Renewal and Expansion Project in Lions Park, from 2017 to 2018.
Binnie worked with the Town of Canmore to incorporate a new tennis court layout at Lions Park. We initially worked with staff through the conceptual design phase to understand, analyze, and synthesize all available background information and reports, and conducted a site review to gain a detailed understanding of the existing conditions, opportunities, and constraints.
During the preliminary design phase, we developed the tennis court design based on the collected information, initial analysis, and costing. Our preliminary design proposed multiple tennis court configuration and associated amenities including covered picnic area, site furnishings, pathways and landscape enhancements.
Binnie supported the public engagement and stakeholder consultation process followed by detail design and construction administration.
