Binnie was chosen to provide an engineering review for the Bear Creek Facility Baseball Field Design. Over the past 15 years, Binnie has enhanced its core services and strengthened its expertise in the area of parks and sports facilities. Currently considered one of the leading outdoor sports facility consultants in Canada, Binnie has provided design and construction administration services for over 100 synthetic turf fields, as well as numerous natural grass baseball, softball and soccer fields, synthetic running tracks, track and field event areas, and hard surface sport courts.
Blair Arbuthnot, MBCSLA, Binnie’s resident Landscape Architect, recently won the contract for the Engineer Review of the Bear Creek Ball Facility in Grand Prairie, Alberta. This is Binnie’s first contract in Alberta and extends the company’s reach in outdoor sports facility consultation. The project is intended to smooth the progress of improvements to the facility in support of Grand Prairie’s successful bid to host a major National Fast Pitch Tournament in August of 2013.
With a Division focused on the needs of sports and recreation, Binnie expanded its scope of services to include Landscape Architecture. Its expertise in this area enables Binnie to provide planning, design, and construction services that balance the technical requirements of a project with aesthetic appeal. The recent addition of Landscape Services also enables Binnie to include open space planning and softscape design services within the company, facilitating a more efficient design process.
