We are pleased to share that Binnie was recognized as part of the MOTI team that won a Premier Award for Promoting Innovation and Excellence for our efforts during the 2021 atmospheric river events.

In November 2021, an atmospheric river brought an unprecedented amount of rain to the province and heavily impacted several BC Highways.  In response, the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and its partners ensured thousands of pieces of equipment and hundreds of engineers, monitors, project managers, and construction personnel could work 24/7. Binnie supported these efforts on multiple highway and local roadway corridors,  including engineering, project management, survey, and construction support.

Binnie staff specializing in Project Delivery, Geomatics, Water Resources and Highway Design contributed their skills and knowledge towards the atmospheric river events recovery.

“The initial response after the November 2021 flood event was fierce. Having a dedicated team within Binnie to coordinate efforts and support the Ministry was a unique opportunity, but one that our team was happy to step up and help with. I am proud of all of the Binnie team who helped with the response efforts and are still helping as we shift into the long term recovery phase of construction.”
