February 2012: Binnie is pleased to announce that Blair Arbuthnot, MBCSLA (Member British Columbia Society of Landscape Architects), has joined the Sports & Recreation Division as Landscape Architect and Senior Project Manager. Bringing Blair onboard is an exciting development for the company, as Binnie continues to grow its areas of expertise. Landscape Architecture services can now be offered to our clients through all Divisions within our company.
Prior to joining Binnie, Blair was the Landscape Architect at the Township of Langley, a position he held for approximately 7 years. Blair has his Masters in Landscape Architecture, a BA in Environmental Studies, and most recently received his MMCD Contract Administration Certification, one of a select group of Landscape Architects to achieve this designation.
Blair’s project experience includes multi-surface playing fields, public open spaces, playgrounds, mountain/BMX bike parks, interpretive trail networks, outdoor sport courts, low water spray parks, green parking/driveways, and passive natural areas. These projects have included public consultation, design, master planning, drainage, landscape planting, project management, and contract administration.
With a strong environmental background, including an Undergraduate Degree in Environmental Studies, Blair is passionate about championing Green Initiatives. He incorporates sustainability goals and objectives into practical design solutions for construction challenges.
