The Calgary West Soccer Centre project involved a complete artificial turf improvement and conversion from four board fields to one large multi-purpose indoor soccer field. The Calgary West Soccer Centre reopened with a fresh new look complete with artificial turf, and the conversion to an 11v11 field which enables CWSC to offer boardless soccer to all of its’ members.
The project included electrical, air supported structure modifications, and artificial turf installation with elastic layer.
“Calgary West Soccer Centre’s upgrade to an 11v11 artificial turf field was imperative to the development of soccer in the city. It allows Member Clubs from all over the city access to a state of the art facility and enables CMSA to offer a larger boardless program,” said Susan Cress, CMSA Executive Director. “We are ecstatic that this facility allows CMSA to expand it’s programing to offer boardless 7v7 soccer to Tiers I – III for ages U13 – U19 this indoor season.”
Previously, the facility housed four boarded fields. CWSC is only one of two full 11v11 indoor soccer pitches in Calgary.
The facility passed FIFA Quality Pro and is one of two FIFA Pro Quality surfaces in all of Canada and only field in Western Canada.
