Binnie completed the Mickey McDougall Lawn Bowling Greens in Fall 2021 and opened to rave reviews. The fieldhouse is scheduled for construction starting Winter 2021. Viewed by the local clubs as the best in the West, the Mickey McDougall Greens has attracted positive feedback from members across the Lower Mainland.
Starting in 2018, Binnie worked with the City of North Vancouver to develop a new synthetic turf specification to allow for greater competition in the Lawn Bowling supply and installation market. Working with suppliers in Australia and England, the eventual supplier was selected from England. While supply and installation during the COVID pandemic and travel restrictions created immense challenges for the overseas supplier, Binnie’s construction team worked with a local general contractor to source a skilled local crew and ensure a world-class installation.
The significant grade changes on site presented a challenging task of site layout and design. With our design team’s creativity solutions with retaining wall design and ramp/staircase transitions, the greens are artfully nestled into the North Shore slopes and within the site limits. Binnie’s skilled design and construction team help realize a world-class facility that will soon be hosting National and International Lawn Bowling competitions.
