Located adjacent to Thomas Haney Secondary, the Telosky Stadium Synthetic Turf Field Facility was completed in Spring 2020. It consists of two full size soccer/softball synthetic turf fields and associated amenities include bleachers, dugouts, pathways, and a field house. The back to back diamond layout was used because it is the safest for all players. New technology was specified for the lighting (LED) and the use of a new odourless engineered infill material.
The adjacent grass field was also renovated as part of this project. With this increased capacity, residents now have greater access to facilities for practices, games, and hosting tournaments. This project addresses the urgent need for more recreation facilities in Maple Ridge. Field users will be able to play through the fall and winter seasons when natural grass fields can be unplayable due to closures.
Telosky Stadium forms a sports hub with the Arthur Peake artificial turf field directly across the street. The Arthur Peake field was also recently designed by Binnie and was completed in 2019. The BC summer games were scheduled to occur here in summer 2020, but have been postponed until 2024.
