Binnie is developing a 20-ha parcel into a new community park. New park facilities will serve the newly built Yorkson Middle School, the surrounding residential areas, and the Township itself. The overall project value is $20 million.
Binnie previously developed a 25-year phased Master Plan for the entire site and is providing detailed design for the first phase of the park, including natural grass sports fields, artificial turf fields, an adventure playground, a splash park, a dog park, and parking areas. Our design team developed an overall theme to inform the detailed design and create a unique identity for the park. The park’s design aims to meet the intense programming demands typical of sports-oriented community parks, while also creating a space that feels also inviting to all community members.
The planning and design balanced active recreation with leisure park programming by creating welcoming and engaging park areas for multiple interests to complement active sport activities.
