Cyrus Lau, P.Eng., M.A.Sc., IRP, is a Water Resources Engineer based in our Burnaby office. Since joining Binnie in 2018, Cyrus has played a key role in our Water Resources Division, developing stormwater designs and applying climate change design adaptations on projects through every project stage – from planning and design to delivery. He currently specializes in producing drainage designs, hydraulic analysis, and climate change assessments for projects across British Columbia. From small developments to major transportation projects, his work helps clients build resilient infrastructure in the face of extreme weather and environmental challenges.

Cyrus’s journey to his current role was influenced by his lifelong interest in math and science which ultimately led him to discover an interest in water resources in university. He holds a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto and a “Infrastructure Resilience Professional” designation (IRP) from the Climate Risk Institute (CRI). In his spare time, he enjoys reading, cooking, and board games.
