We are excited to announce that our team has received an Award of Excellence in the Design and Contract Preparation-Roads category for the 202 Street to 216 Street Highway Widening and 216 Street Interchange project at B.C. Highway’s Consulting Engineers Awards this year.
Awards were announced at the 2022 ACEC Transportation Conference, hosted by The Association of Consulting Engineering Companies British Columbia, in partnership with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. This year’s hosts included Binnie Senior Project Manager, Andrew Swift, PMP.
The 202 Street to 216 Street Highway Widening and 216 Street Interchange project was completed in 2020 and included a new diamond interchange at Highway 1 and 216th Street in Langley, six-laning Highway 1 between 202nd Street and the Glover Road underpass, widening 216th Street to a four-lane arterial road, adding a westbound high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) off-ramp and an eastbound HOV on-ramp at 202nd Street, and modifying the existing single lane off-ramp at 200th Street to a two-lane off-ramp.
This project was a collaboration between Binnie staff members who specialize in highway design, geomatics, traffic services, water resources and more.
