We are delighted to announce the promotion of Amrita Banerjee, P.Eng., P.E., M.Sc. to Transportation Major Projects Division Manager. Amrita joined Binnie in May 2018 as a Senior Project Manager in the Highway Design Division. With over 19 years of experience in providing oversight and technical leadership on small and large-scale transportation projects, she is a natural choice for her new position.
In her time at Binnie, she has played a vital role in many large projects, including the Highway 1 Chase West Four Laning project east of Kamloops and the Kicking Horse Canyon Owner’s Engineer assignment. She has worked closely with major clients including Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI), Vancouver International Airport Authority, City of Vancouver, BC Maritime Employers Association, BC Hydro, and Port of Vancouver.
Since joining Binnie, Amrita has served as a Mentor, where she is a role model, active contributor, and proud supporter of fellow women professionals in Binnie’s RISE group. Her great interest in mentoring stems from her genuine desire to help other younger engineers by sharing her perspectives, lessons learned and experiences throughout her career. Amrita has always believed that there should be more women she could reach out to share industry perspectives and has worked to support that goal.
Externally, Amrita is a member of Women in Infrastructure (WIN) and participates in Engineers and Geoscientists BC’s Women in Engineering and Geoscience Division. She was an Outstanding Leader Nominee for the Women’s Infrastructure Awards in 2021 and in 2018.
